So Much for the Mild Winter

We're on about day 13 in a row of below normal temps.  I know January is supposed to be cold, but temps have been in the single digits and wind chills have been even lower. I've had to leave the hot water running in the upstairs bedroom to keep the pipe from freezing.  I don't even want to see the water bill for this month (or the heating bill!), but I guess it's better than paying Bill to come over every couple days to unthaw the pipes.
Not much else to report.  Still waiting for the carpet to be repaired.  Hopefully, soon.

Two Steps Forward

I have restored the web site to some semblance of its former self.  The people at the "help" desk weren't very helpful earlier this week when the site suddenly reverted to a version from early December. So, I ended up having to pretty much rebuild it.
I couldn't remember all the blog entries, but I did the best I could with the reading list page. I also added a humor page.  I'm trying to add a counter, but for some reason I haven't been able to do it.  Keep trying, I guess.
We're in the middle of our first big snowstorm of the winter.  About 10" or more before it's all said and done.  I volunteered to go in to work today to help answer phones, but the boss called and asked me to go in tomorrow morning (6AM) instead.  He doesn't think I'll be needed per se, but he wants a manager-type there just in case. I'll only have to be there a couple hours, so I should get home in plenty of time to watch the Eagles (hopefully!) beat Atlanta.

Just Like Starting Over

It hasn't really been six-weeks since my last blog entry, although you wouldn't know it by looking at the dates.  For some reason, everything I did with the website from December 5, 2004 though January 18, 2005 suddenly disappeared.  I returned home last night to find that this site had inexplicably reverted to a much earlier version.
I will try to catch you up on what you missed:
- Broken toilet (now fixed)
- Frozen water pipes (then unfrozen, frozen, unfrozen, and currently frozen again)
- A pull in the new carpet in my office (not my fault and not fixed yet)
- Googled myself and ran across several other Jennifer Wades. The most interesting is a grad student in San Francisco, but she grew up in Massachusetts and has relatives in PA.  I'm wondering if we're related.  I'm thinking no, but I might email her and ask.
I think that covers the highlights.  Now begins the task of recreating what I had created before.  Wish me luck.
