Stopped at a fast food place for lunch today. The bill came to $4.97. I gave the cashier a $20, then I remembered that I had a bunch of pennies, so I gave her 7-cents more. She had already rung up the change from just the $20, and the extra pennies really threw her. She actually tried to take 7-cents away from the change she already owed me instead of adding 7-cents. I had to tell her that I now needed a dime instead of three pennies. I hope she's the exception and not the rule.
